Clinics Boost PAs in Response to Patient Influx


CBS’ “This Morning” show recently looked at how physicians are planning for the increased patient load due to the Affordable Care Act.

Metro Immediate & Primary Care in Washington, D.C., is planning ahead for an influx of new patients by doubling their medical staff with PAs.

CBS reporter Wyatt Andrews said that the need for PAs will be critical as the number of new patients rises faster than the number of new doctors.

And Metro Immediate & Primary Care President Christopher Timm says that PAs will be valuable to coordinating patient care in addition to practicing medicine in light of a shortage of physicians.
