Hug to Heal
Be generous with hugs this season! Hugging has shown to be an effective and costless way to promote healing in ourselves and our loved ones. The recommended dosage of hugs per day is four.
Hugging has been said to promote healing in the following ways:
- Hugs boosts oxytocin levels, healing feelings of loneliness, isolation and anger
- Hugs boosts serotonin levels, elevating our moods with happy feelings leading to positive thinking
- Hugs release muscle tension and stress, promoting relaxation and allowing our bodies to heal quicker
